I have lived in my house for only 6 months, my neighbours are the coolest on both sides too.
I'm very fortunate,
On one side the lass babysits for me [I pay her] and her mum always lends me stuff if I need it or the other way round. Her freezer broke down and I bailed her out.Its great.

I don't know them that well on the other side but they seem friendly enough and always say hi.

before I lived here I was in a refuge so its nice to live in peace.

Yes, I do. We are friendly on my road & we look our for each other. I thinks it's important to be a good neighbour & to have good neighbours. It's sad that the community spirit that used to unite neighbourhoods isn't there much any more. Elderly people can be vulnerable & it's good to keep an eye on them & to offer help as needed. One never knows when one will need help from one's neighbours, so it pays to be friendly. One should offer help as well, of course.

No, rarely speak to neighbours. Only if we make eye contact when both bringing in the mail, even then it's just a 'hi'.

Yes, we only have one lot of neighbours- we live in a very rural area. However, we hardly ever see them. Either they're away or we're all working. We know that we'll do favours for each other and keep an eye on things though.

To the majority of them yes, we do have neighbours from hell on our street and they cause so much trouble and unrest that no one speaks to them, we got the good news they are going at the beginning of December, hopefully our street will become a nice friendly street again.

The ones on the left I haven't seen but their donkey thinks he's a rooster and wakes us up early!! I have actually seen of of the teens car around here painted John Deere green. Help Me!!

Yep, we have one of our immediate neighbours over for drinks a fair bit and the other side over for dinner about twice a year.

We know about 4 other couples on the street and talk to them all the time.

I'd hate to have bad neighbours.

When I first moved into my condo building, I decided to make some muffins and share them with the people who live on my floor. Only one lady actually opened the door and thanked me. All the others opened the door, said something in their language, and then slammed the door on me. So no, I don't speak to them. But I do have other friends in the building, who live on a different floor. One lady is a lot older than me but sometimes we talk on the phone.

I speak to my neighbours and engage in friendly chit-chat and tend to keep it nice and light but nothing too deep and meaningfull is advisable as if you ever have cross words with each other, your paths cross on a very regular basis.

Only if I have to. I greet them when I see them of course, but I don't like to talk to my current neighbours any more than that, for good reasons.

I used to talk to my previous neighbours sometimes though.
