Muslims do not generally read other religious books because they are forbidden by Quran, and Quran has to be accepted by the Muslims as the last word. Secondly, they have to accept Muhammad as the last Prophet and none other can be said to have any spiritual qualities. Ahmadiyas are Muslims who believe in the Quran, the Prophet and Allah, but they also believed that there could be still spiritual figures in the world. As a result, they are not accepted by the Islamic community. It shows that Muslims neither can tolerate expansion of their own ideas nor they are allowed to have a free search for truth beyond what is written in the Quran. Most of the answers above also show lack of tolerance which is the outcome of being a Muslim.

Muslims DO read the books of other religions. There is nothing in Islam prohibiting or even discouraging reading the texts of other religions.
I don't know who the Ahamadiyas are.

Are you spyin Muslims in their homes??? How do you know we dont read other religious books? Of course we do but we dont agree with them nor follow them!!! Ahamadiyas accepted another prophet after Prophet Muhammad(pbuh) and they changed Islam according to themselves but its not a right behaviour, if you believe in something, it doesnt give you a right to change it however you want.

Iam a Muslim 4rm Egypt and here we know everything about other religious..We here Muslims & Christians live 2gether in peace..We celebrate wiz them in thier cermonies & its a national holydays..but U know I dont know anything about Ahamadiyas but all I know if they r acceptable we will accept them..We luv 2 liv in peace.....and U never knows till u have the experience

Muslims do not need to read other Holy Books because the Holy Qur'an is the only complete book from God Almighty and contains the protected truth. It is a form of worship to read the Holy Qur'an. Reading the other books does not benefit our souls. They are there as reference books.
Ahmadiyas reject the last and final Prophet and Messenger of God, Muhammad (peace be upon him) and are therefore outside of the fold of Islam.

How many Christians have even read the Bible properly? (i.e. not have it fed to them in isolated verses used to create a particular meaning to back up the cant they are being given at the time). Religion is a mind narrowing thing that disapproves of serious learning and discourages its followers from finding anything out for themselves.

I cannot read a book contradicts with my beliefs. How can I read: Jesus said 'I am God' or Jesus said 'Father forgive them'? It makes me shiver. I don't believe in such. Would U read something knowing it is not true? Sorry if I hurt anyone's feelings, I am only answering the question.
I don't know about the Ahamadiyas, never heard of them.

Why Muslims do not read other religious books?
Ans...
Coz others are not authentic & are tailored to ease self..
They are not true ...
They say worng things about Islam....
So they are wrong.....
& if u mean other religion's books, like bible etc...
well I think we dont need to read..
we know we will be succesfull by obeying just a single book QUR'an, why waste time in others book incorrect books....
But still we read other books only for comparision....
but do not follow them..
I myself being a muslim, Believe in all books which my GOD[Allah] sent to us like bible, torah etc.. but they are not in their original versions....
BUT the Quran is still...
Bibles new & new chapters are coming now & then....

As far as Ahmadi people are concerned,
They are not accepted as muslims in muslims because the have totally changed the concept of Islam.....
They dont believe in true muslims concepts...
& they have their own god what so ever....

Muslims do what people from other faiths might do, some of them read other religion’s books and some don’t. People from all faiths do the same, and some will not even read their own faith’s books.

Dont ask them embrassing questions. They are full of hate not only against non-muslims but against other muslims who are not with them
They hate sunnis, shias, ahmedias, druzes,aga khanis, bohras etc which are all muslims
