I have recently gotten out of a friends with benefits relationship with a woman 11 years older than me (she's 35). She says she has bipolar and she is divorced with 3 kids i really cared for her and for me it wasn't just about the sex and she said the same too.
However she was also having a sexual relationship with a 40 year old guy who was living with girlfriend for 3 years, she thought she loved him but admitted he used her for sex. She was also sleeping around with other guys.
Everyone I have told about this says she is irresponsible, very ill, annoying, selfish, loud, a skank, a user. If this is so why can't I see this, it seems I am blinded by it all. I currently have no contact with her and any normal person would look at these things as a deterrent. What do you guys think by her description and also why I can't see the bigger picture?

Consider yourself lucky that you got out of this relationship. You say that "it wasn't just about the sex" for both of you...that means emotions were involved too. This is why you can't see the bigger picture, when we care for someone a lot, we tend to not want to see their flaws and faults. If everyone is telling you bad things about her, perhaps you should take a step back and re-examine things from a new perspective if you can. There must be a reason everyone is saying what they are.
If she's sleeping around with more than one other guy, besides you, she is irresponsible. Indiscriminate sex can have the potential to be literally fatal these days. If you do nothing else, get yourself tested for all STD's as well as HIV. Using a condom won't protect you from everything.
I feel sorry for her three kids, this mom isn't a good one.

Love is blind. No, I don't find her irresponsible, unless there was no contraception and or protection. What I do see from what little you have shared is a woman who is either enjoying her new found freedom. If she were a man and doing the same she'd be getting high fives.Or a woman who is confusing sex with love. This could be due to a number of reasons. And bi-polar disorder isn't one of them. The reasons could range from insecurity from hitting middle age and finding that you're not going to grow old with some one, feeling over whelmed by new responsibilities that she alone must deal with. Maybe as a child there was no strong father figure. Or as a child she was sexually abused and subconsciously associates her self worth with sex. What my concern would be...If her bi-polar disorder isn't some lame excuse for you to forgive or take pity on her, is her children. I lived with a man who suffered from it. He should be paroled soon, for attempted murder. He nearly beat me to death. If she doesn't have it controlled then her children have to suffer from constant mood swings ranging from deep depression to extreme happiness to sometimes and all to often violence.

first of all, i'm so sorry your mom substitute into harm, it seems very undesirable. i'm hoping she recoups quickly and need she would not enable this turn her against the Rotti form dogs. i'm hoping which you sue for her scientific costs, discomfort and suffering and the emotional misery positioned on her because of the attack.. you should sue for each and all of the above and all of it should be pronounced interior the healthy, she will have the flexibility to win palms down... it extremely is terrible. You pronounced the gate is often closed except they are strolling the dogs, feels like they walked the dogs and forgot to close the gate, or did no longer close it stable adequate and the dogs worked it loose, no excuse besides for this taking place. And, if the dogs has executed this interior the previous, sure, I agree the dogs should be positioned down, if it were a toddler out with their dogs, no telling what form of harm could have been executed. do no longer hesitate to sue please, i be attentive to they are you pals, yet this might nicely be a extreme remember and should be dealt with heavily besides. stable success on your mom and lower back i'm sorry this has occurred to her or everyone for that remember. i visit wish for her speedy restoration.

because you are looking at her in a different way plus you and her was having sex everyone else see her as the person she really are.when you bring sex into the picture it make you see things different. but deep down inside you should know that she is really selfish and a users. with all of those men she is sleeping with should let you know she isn't any good. what her problem is she is looking for love in all of those guys and you. by sleeping with yall

Have you ever heard that love is blind? well it's true. when we met someone and feel a connection, we see the person for their potential. The closer we get to that person the more we understand why that person acts the way they do. Which is why others don't see it. And when that person makes us feel special we chose to over look their down falls.
