Tacitus was a Roman historian writing early in the 2nd century A.D............ But not all the relief that could come from man, not all the bounties that the prince could bestow, nor all the atonements which could be presented to the gods, availed to relieve Nero from the infamy of being believed to have ordered the conflagration, the fire of Rome. Hence to suppress the rumor, he falsely charged with the guilt, and punished Christians, who were hated for their enormities. Christus, the founder of the name, was put to death by Pontius Pilate, procurator of Judea in the reign of Tiberius: but the pernicious superstition, repressed for a time broke out again, not only through Judea, where the mischief originated, but through the city of Rome also, where all things hideous and shameful from every part of the world find their center and become popular. Accordingly, an arrest was first made of all who pleaded guilty; then, upon their information, an immense multitude was convicted, not so much of the crime of firing the city, as of hatred against mankind......... Josephus ben Matthias is the best known ancient Jewish historian. He was born in 37 CE, only a few years after Jesus' execution. Josephus was well educated in biblical law and history.............. Now there was about this time Jesus, a wise man, if it be lawful to call him a man, for he was a doer of wonderful works, a teacher of such men as receive the truth with pleasure. He drew over to him both many of the Jews, and many of the Gentiles. He was the Christ, and when Pilate, at the suggestion of the principal men among us, had condemned him to the cross, those that loved him at the first did not forsake him; for he appeared to them alive again the third day; as the divine prophets had foretold these and ten thousand other wonderful things concerning him. And the tribe of Christians so named from him are not extinct at this day. He also wrote....................
But the younger Ananus who, as we said, received the high priesthood, was of a bold disposition and exceptionally daring; he followed the party of the Sadducees, who are severe in judgment above all the Jews, as we have already shown. As therefore Ananus was of such a disposition, he thought he had now a good opportunity, as Festus was now dead, and Albinus was still on the road; so he assembled a council of judges, and brought before it the brother of Jesus the so-called Christ, whose name was James, together with some others, and having accused them as lawbreakers, he delivered them over to be stoned.

The gospel of Mark describes the first written Bible gospel. And although Mark appears deceptively after the Matthew gospel, the gospel of Mark got written at least a generation before Matthew. From its own words, we can deduce that the author of Mark had neither heard Jesus nor served as his personal follower.

Any careful reading of the three Synoptic Gospels (Matthew, Mark, Luke) will reveal that Mark served as the common element between Matthew and Luke and gave the main source for both of them. Of Mark's 678 verses, some 600 appear in Matthew, some 300 in Luke.

The author of Luke admits himself as an interpreter of earlier material and not an eyewitness (Luke 1:1-4).

The Gospel of John disagrees with events described in Mark, Matthew, and Luke.

Paul's biblical letters (epistles) serve as the oldest surviving Christian texts, written probably around 60 C.E. Most scholars have little reason to doubt that Paul wrote some of them himself. However, there occurs not a single instance in all of Paul's writings that he ever meets or sees an earthly Jesus, nor does he give any reference to Jesus' life on earth.

The fact that the whole text of the NT is be edited many times in its history indicates that most of it is probebly Fiction based on heresay and fantasy .

For example would you believe a story told too you by someone who knew someone who knew someone from 50 yrs before the events that where descibed by the last person ...I doubt it ..It amazes me that people take what is said in the bible as comeing straight from god himself ..

Where else does any character of the past exist?
Julius Cesar, Plato, King Arthur...
All we have of any of them is in books and tales told by people about them. Sorry there were no cameras or other means of documentation back then! that does not mean they never existed.

In heaven and in your heart and soul. Heaven God's dwelling place and someday He WILL come back to earth and take the righteous to heaven. But also He's with each one of us. He's with you and He takes care of you. All the good things you got in your life are from His blessing and the bad are from Satan as he's trying to tempt you. God bless you.

By the way, Yes he died. BUT he rose AGAIN. He Still lives. Why don't u read the Bible and other books about the Bible instead of making up your own answers and thoughts. Don't take things for granted.

hush you need to hush with all that. Jesus is real and one day he's coming back for a people that are living Holy and upright. and in that day every knee shall bow and every tounge will confess that Jesus Christ is Lord. You can play with God all you want but when Satan strikes sickeness upon you- you better call on the name of Jesus. There is Power in the name of Jesus. I have seen people healed from sickness and delivered from so many things. I was once a non-believer until Jesus came in and change my Life.. God bless you.
