We should not see death as some sort of a gateway where we will go to heaven and spend the rest of eternity there with beautiful maiden, angels, etc.

Life is eternal where death is an in-between for us to travel from one form of existence to another. Christians may not believe in rebirth and karma, which is taught in Buddhism. But lately I've been reading studies done by some Christians that the lost teachings of Jesus were actually the teachings of rebirth and karma. No, this isn't a study by Buddhists, but by Christians. The study stated that the reason these teachings were lost is because the religious leaders didn't want the followers to be spiritually independent.

And I wonder, if that's really true, then Islam should also teach the same thing. But if it doesn't, then to claim that Islam complete other religions is a mistake. Don't get emotional, Muslims. I have the right to give my honest opinion here.

Unfortunately, no, there is no "life after death."

While it's comforting to think that there's something "beyond" what we're living in now, nobody who has died has lived to tell about it. Yes, there have been stories of people who have *almost* died, seen the white light, their relatives, etc. But they weren't dead; they were only experiencing a lack of blood in their brain.

As one approaches death, the last areas of the brain to lose blood are the vision and memory centers. This is what causes the apparent "tunnel of light" and the "life flashing before your eyes". What's the proof? People going through fighter jet or astronaut training in a centerfuge, just before they black out (from lack of blood to the brain) will see a "tunnel of light" and other "visions" remarkably similar to those "near death" experiences.

This loss of blood in the brain is where the belief in Life After Death came from. Early man couldn't explain it so he (she?) simply decided that there was something "beyond"....

It depends on what you mean.
1) No. That's why they call it "death." That's the opposite of life!
2) But Jesus, by his own nasty death, has purchased the right to resurrect people with His creative power and let them live forever if they so desire. (Interesting, hunh?!)
