Muslims are religiously bound to do good deeds, promote goodies and avoid and prevent evil or non human actions or behavior.
Now it depends how far a Muslim can go.
Prophet says highest level is to use your physical strength if required. Medium level is try verbally, last is at least think and do participate in bad deeds.
So it is clear that a Muslim should take part for genuinely required action, but it depends on person how much he or she feel strong on that particular time and situation.
It is also obligatory for a Muslim to always be in favor of truth, without considering any other things.

definitely.... i would protect both them and the name of my religion. why on earth would i protect someone in my own faith who is lying and harming someone else without cause which is against my faith?

**how far i would go would depend on the situation. what is the lie? how are they being hurt? do any of the people involved have children?, etc.

when a person lies it is bad... but when a person who is supposed to represent a faith acts in a manipulative way it is even more disgusting

peace to all
a Muslimah

Why would i want to cheapened the sanctity of my Religion by proselytizing on here how great we are when in truth we're going down once the dynamics of self criticsm is stifled by all these zealots talking crap non-stop while in our very midsts social injustice pervades everywhere?

Isn't it hypocritical to say yeah we are all so wonderful out loud and yet sweep up the dirt under the carpet. I bet you are a muslim, since you choose to upheld the view of a fellow muslim answerer. how typical.
Are you guys really that nice are you just projecting an image of such wholesomeness before the gaze of non-muslims.

What d'ya think of polygamy then?

Yes, I would protect him/her from any forms of harm, as long as I'm sure he/she is really being harmed

Our Prophet Mohammed (prayers & peace be upon him) was always honest to his neighbors (Muslims AND non-Muslims)...He always asked about them, talked to them nicely, and even walked in their funerals with all due respect

Religion shouldn't be the base standard for judging people...In my point of view, and I think many would agree with this, that a person should be judged for what he/she is

Yes, as long as they deserve the protection and are not trouble makers. I would also like to know why the "powerful" members would want to harm them. We need to know who is in the right.

Im a Muslim. Of course i would protect! His/her religion is not important at the first time i would see him/her as a human! And i would always be the one's side who is right. Allah wants from us to behave like that in Islam.

it's a bit messy question ..... if i'm correct, u are asking would i protect the people of different relgious beliefs from the false propaganda of my own religion? - then the answer is YES

But as to how far i would go ........ well, my methods have always been polite. As for the current mass euphoria of muslims being categorised as terrorists - i can only deny it, point people to the verses of Qur'an to prove my point, become friends with them to let them meet a true muslimah, etc ........... but to apologise for someone else's sins - NO, THANKS ...... my soul is clear

EDIT: correct me if i'm wrong about your question, please :)

EDIT: amazing indeed ..... either they think that no preachers harm their image - or they don't care what others think of them

Of course I would protect them... what a silly question :)

Jesus went all the way to the cross... I suppose I'd have to go all the way too, if the occassion demanded it (I hope it won't).

We are human first, and religious second. We are one family, really.
