If you mean the pink nail become pale and white, it may be because of anemia that is a very low amount of red blood cells(RBC) in the blood. it may be due to an illness, severe bleeding or physical condition like pregnancy or any treatment that cause a reduction in the number of RBC in the blood.

Another reason can be a low blood flow to a local area especially extrimities due to the presence of blood clot that obstucts or a tight bandage or swelling in a local area leading to impaired blood flow.

What I feel is that if all your finger nails has the color change and it is over a period of time, it may be due to anemia. Do consult your doctor.

I would think him to be a transvestite. I was once married to one and when he came out of the closet with it, he first started out by going out in public with his nails painted (fingers and toes). It was his way of letting me and the world know..kind of like testing the response before going full blown with it. I divorced him because of it.
