. On the average, a healthy person should drink eight 8-ounce glasses every day. That's about 2 quarts. However, the overweight person needs additional water. Water should preferably be cold--it's absorbed into the system more quickly than warm water. And some evidence suggests that drinking cold water can actually help burn calories.

When the body gets the water it needs to function optimally, its fluids are perfectly balanced. When this happens, you have reached the "breakthrough point". Endocrine-gland function improves. Fluid retention is alleviated, as stored water is lost. More fat is used as fuel because the liver’s primary job of metabolizing stored fat. Natural thirst returns and there is a loss of hunger almost overnight.

women need about 2.2 liters a day and men need about 3 liters however that depends on your daily activities and if your in the heat more often than not highly active people will need a little more water than recommended and people in extreme heats will need a large amount more than recommended, I do not know those amounts unfortunately but id imagine about a liter or so more

It says 8 to 10 glasses of water is good. that is about 1600 cc (ml) to 2000 cc(ml).

I woud suggest to take a close look at the urine output and measure it. then take water about 300 cc to 500 cc extra to the amount you voided(peed). that will give you enough hydration.
