quite a few attractive intrested women have suggested that I tri- color or highlight my hair and have it styled like a Rod Stewart / Barry Manilow or Clay Aiken/ Bon Jovi type of styles . Is it that time, for a change or should I just keep my shoulder length hair ?
I'm a rock & roller at 50 years of age and don't look older than 39. The best part about it is that it's all mine !
What do u think ?

Clay Aiken and Barry Manilow do not say Rocker to me. Rod Stewart has had the SAME HAIRSTYLE for his whole career. Do you really want to look like him? I think he's ugly. Jon Bon Jovi has gone to a "normal" man's hairstyle years ago.

Ultimately, you're 50 years old. Do you really want to look like you're going through male menopause and doing everything within your power to look younger?

Embrace your age. Don't cut your hair if this is what you want. But don't colour it or do anything else too metrosexual. Unless of course, you're trying to impress those teenyboppers that think "mature" men are sexy?!

Ok first of all are you happy with it? Second of all do you need a change? Thirdly do you look like any of the people mentioned above? If you want to get some colour and higlights done ask around for a good salon to start with as a bad haircut or colour is enough to turn anyone off!

Talk to the stylist and see what they have in mind and check out some styles you like on the net. A good stylist will work with you and tell you exactly what suites you and what dosn't!

Good luck and I prefer guys with long natural hair!

Well, you only live once and it is only hair. Try something new and see if you like it (it will always grow back if you don't) But I would say don't go for the Rod Stewart or Clay Aiken looks (not a good idea) hehe

Keep your hair! I have always had long hair it has ranged from below my butt to between my shoulder blades. One of the wisest things my mother told me was ....
IT DOESN'T MATTER HOW FAT OR UGLY A GIRL IS...IF SHE HAS LONG HAIR SHE WILL ALWAYS GET LOOKED AT. It's true too. I see it everywhere. When a girl pretty or not has long hair, everyone notices her, by both men and women. Why can't highlights be added to long hair? If its done right it looks great! Especially with some soft layering in the cut.

it extremely is humorous because of the fact in extreme college I had great long hair... and quite a number of alternative individuals assumed it substitute right into a weave. My hair now is previous shoulder length and individuals nevertheless question me if it extremely is a weave. i don't get disillusioned or something, it only is going to instruct that folk assume maximum black human beings positioned on weaves... Even different black human beings. individuals assume that black human beings's hair would not advance. in the event that they knew the thank you to take are of it, it may. yet I digress... you're precise approximately human beings assuming that easy skinned those with long hair are mixed and of direction have long hair. IDK, screwed up international we are residing in i assume. EDIT: enable me upload that going organic does no longer mean you're immediately going to have healthy, long, thick hair! it extremely is the consumer-friendly false impression that countless black human beings have. i be attentive to countless females with organic hair whose hair seems a warm mess... All dry and frazzled. Why? because of the fact they don't be attentive to the thank you to good look after their hair. They assume because of the fact their hair is organic, they do no longer ought to do something to it, incorrect. comparable with women individuals with comfortable hair. They assume because of the fact they have a perm, that their hair would be all surprisingly. it extremely is incorrect additionally. If human beings knew the thank you to look after their hair, it would not be a controversy.

I think that simple highlights are less drastic than cutting your hair short. I would say that if you are considering a change for yourself than try and ease yourself into it don't change completely because you may end up feeling that the look doesn't fit YOU. Most importantly do what makes you happy and do it for yourself.

aww I think its awesome that you have authentic long hair. I wouldnt change it if i were you, just because i know alot of women (including me. lol) who think long hair on a man is HOTT! Wouldnt trihighlighting your hair be a bit too metrosexual? Like ryan seacrest? Do what makes you happy. :]

i just wanted to add in that i love sonkysst's answer.

If its you and what you like then keep it. It's part of what makes you you. If your board and want something new go for it but just keep in mind. Once its gone thats it. Growing it out is very hard and time consuming.

WEll I guess you could try it and see if you like it. Can always grow it back again........

Then again, I've had chemo and been BALD until a few months ago, so cutting it a bit shorter, sounds like no big sacrifice to me!

Give it a go, u might like it.

well, i suggest you highlight your hair.. it depends though on your facial structure. Sometimes you need to highlight your hair to accentuate your face
