You are never to old to return to college. Learning is a lifetime activity which you can always do and enjoy. There are always new chances to upgrade your qualifications and skills as our world changes so fast. At 45 you may have found something you are really interested in doing for a career. I remember reading that people even in their 90's have gone back to college and enjoyed their learning experience immensely. I hope you decide to go back. Call the colleges where you live and talk to a counseller. At many colleges they have special groups for older students, where you can meet students of a similar age to you, which will help you deal with the changes you will go through returning to school. Best wishes to you.

I am only 24, but I will tell you I thought it was difficult going back to school after being out for TWO years. I see the difference between me and the 18 years olds glaringly and annoyinly clear, so I can't imagine what it would feel like for you. It's going to be harder for you. And no ones gonna understand. Maybe you're married, or have kids, or a house, etc. you have responsiblities to take care of and college can be tough. you have to balance your life and going to school, and that can really be difficult at any age. anyways, I say go for it. There are so many different aged people in colleges these days (certainly the young out number the old, but still). I've seen 60 year old women in college, and 45 year olds are not scarce. so jump in.

noooo.... how can u think that? u have to know that never is too late to do anything. If that's what you want you should follow then, I have a person in my class that is 59 years old and there's no problem. U have to follow your dream and not let anybody put u down... There's no such thing as 'u had your chance' ... I mean there is... but in marriages

No, never so long as we live.
We are constantly growing, learning, and improving until our death, unless we give up, and then we stagnate.
I encourage you to pursue your dreams whatever they may be, and improve yourself, and if you feel that college is the place to achieve your dreams, then by all means do that which is necessary to accomplish your mission, and good luck to you.
Please temper that which you learn, with your own good judgment, as often what is being taught is not always truth.

Bullshed...I went back at 31 and graduated at 36 after working my azz off and suffering the tortures of the damned because all my friends had families that could support them when they went to school at 18 or 19 and real jobs by the time I decided to go back. You can do it, but it ain't easy; just worth it when you can say you did it by yourself!

You're never to old to go back to college. You're never to old to expand your knowledge. I'm going back to college myself. I made many mistakes when I was younger and one of them was not finishing college. Colleges now a days cater to older college students by offering night classes or longer classes that are only one day a week instead of three, even online classes. Good for you and good luck.

If you don't expect to be part of the whole college lifestyle, it's never too late to go back.
