This outside mother cat moved her 3 or 4 week old kitten from a barn that was fixed up with a pet taxi and blankets, from the barn to under my house where it is full of water and then she leaves it and it is steady yelping loud and it acts as if it is starving. I brought the kitten into my home and now am hand feeding it every 4 hours and it seems to be more content and less stressed than it were outside all by itself . Before moving it into my home I tried to get the mother cat to take it back and she just act as if she had no desire what so ever for the little kitten she just left and went away. What do I do? Am I doing the right thing.

If you want a cat, you did the right thing. I you don't want a cat bu knows someone else that does, yes

Mama cat dumped the kitten. My guess is she moved it for a reason. Tom cats will kill kittens either because they aren't their own, or to be able to breed sooner.

Where are the other kittens? A 1 kitten litter is very unusual

Mama's milk may have dried up so she brought it to you to care for

For whatever reason, you now have a house cat. Check with a vet to find out what kind of milk is approprite for her. Enjoy.

congratulations, you've got yourself a kitten. You did the best thing in the circumstances by the sound of it. 3 or 4 weeks is quite young to be away from Mum but I had one about that age just turn up in garden last year. He just came and joined the other cats (I had 4 at the time). He's still here.

i became interior a similar subject. My kitten is now 7 weeks previous, and nevertheless getting used to stuff, alongside with my 2 12 months previous cat. you want to provide the kitten as a lot interest as you could, purely like you would on your human being toddler. purely make sensible there is continually foodstuff in her foodstuff bowl, and continually has water. she will be able to bypass contained in the muddle field if its comfortable adequate for her to bounce into. attempt to placed her on your mattress to sleep besides. Happier cats accomodate you many extra useful than unhapy ones.
