That is not a far walk at all!

Keep in mind that it will be very crowded with tourists and shoppers!

When you get to Penn Station, the best idea would be to avoid walking across 34th Street! It is really over-crowded and there are some difficult traffic patterns. Instead, walk up 7th Avenue for a few blocks and then head east (turning right) to 5th Avenue.

It might take you a little longer than 19 minutes, but not much.

American Girl Place - your best bet is to take the ferry from Port Imperial, Weehawken to Midtown (W.39th St & 12th Ave). Once you arrive in NYC, there are free shuttle buses in front of the terminal which will drop you exactly there @ 49th St & 5th Ave. The company is called NY Waterway. Ferry rides take less than 10mins & you beat the traffic & large crowds & with kids it's the safest. I take my 2 year old on it as well! Kids 12 & under ride FREE starting Thanksgiving day until January 7th. This will be fun for all of you -- call them - ask for Jessica!
