It was just a simple accounting screw-up.

If he had gone to the military first instead of the news media it would have been fixed right away.

This action of events would only happen if he did not serve honorably while in the service and if losing his two arms happened off duty.

The military will not ask you to pay back the money you have already received however they will not pay you any more if it was a re-enlistment bonus. He would be discharged with a Honorable (medical) discharge and wished a good rest of his life. I know this because my dad went through the same thing but with his ankles in the Army.

This is true. If you breach your agreement you are responsible to pay back any money you were awarded for college, etc. Anyone joining should not enter with any expectations of getting free education and a big signing bonus. Military world is a harsh one.

i know this is true becase my ex is military, but if he signed a contrat to perfor a job and went back on that then he needs to pay back the goverment. Unless he dies then i think he did his duty to the fullest. Military is not for everyone and is something that should really be thought about before entering lightly.
