Politicians have spent millions of taxpayers money convincing American families to send their sons and daughters to Iraq.

How many politicians' sons and/or daughters have signed up for service since the beginning of the war in Iraq? I'm not talking about those already in the military, just the ones who have signed up since the current conflict started.

Didn't McCain's son just enlist?

BTW - apparently the percentage of Congress-members with children in the military is double that of the average population.

nicely, for one element, we've an all volunteer military. So no person is had to "deliver" their little young ones. If we had a draft, that must be distinctive. i don't be attentive to approximately different conservative politicians, however the daughter of the commonwealth's lawyer of Virginia has a daughter serving in Iraq.

Seriously, what does that have to do with anything? I do not understand why we are at war, nor do I degree with many (most) of the decisions our current administration has made. But I also understand that the children of politicians are not required to agree with their parents, nor are they here to offer up as proof of their parents dedication to a cause, war, etc. In short, they are their own people. That would be like you (the author of this question) having a parent who prefered to eat steak every night, and as proof of how much they liked it, made you eat it as well. It really makes no sense. Sorry about the lame example, that's all I could think of at this hour. Anyway. My point is, children are not here to be used as pawns in political games.

NONE! And the President only has daughters. This includes ALL parties. And you don't see Hillary sending her little girl now do you??? But yet she criticizes President Bush for having been in the National Guard during Viet'Nam....Let's see...Billy Boy didn't serve either did he? OH WAIT!!! Kerry got all those fake medals while he was in, didn't he?

Nobody SENDS their kids , the kids sign up out of love of country and a sense of duty .
If you ask the troops , you'll find that serving tends to run in the family, dad served , grandpa served .
Some serve , some sit on their A** and bytch about it .

Not enough! I think that accounts for the lack of compassion from our government.
