Losing sensation in the finger is pretty common with deep injuries of the finger. I'm not too certain as to whether a surgeon will be able to restore the nerve function, but I wouldn't worry too much about that. Just make sure you get to a doctor as soon as possible to prevent infection.

I would say 'Yes'. If you can't stop bleeding within minutes, you need medical attention.

If you actually severed the tip of your finger, recover the tip, wrap it in a clean paper towel and bag it in ice. (better yet get someone else to do it).

To staunch the bleeding while you seek medical attention, press a clean dressing onto the finger while elevating it above your head. This will redice blood pressure in the finger.

If you need to drive to hospital, get someone else to drive if at all possible, so that you can keep your and elevated and keep the dressing on.

You must be a guy.

Fingers bleed a lot due to the numerous amounts of capillaries, which aid in the sense of touch.

Capillaries have a lot of surface area but not a lot of volume.

You won't bleed to death. Just wash it and put a band aid on it.

You bleed to death when you hit an artery or vein; both of which have little surface area but high volume.

Tomorrow, the cut will be an innocent flap of skin.

I'm not a medical expert, but my instinct is for you to seek medical attention, especially if you aren't able to stop the bleeding. In the meantime, keep applying pressure with gauze or or some other cloth. Don't take the bloody cloths off, keep applying pressure with new cloths on top of the old ones. Good luck!

This is years ago but this made me laugh! ha! Well did you just cut your finger a little where some skin cam off a little or did you literally cut off the tip of your finger? Well hopefully if you did cut off your finger hopefully you did go to the doctor! Kind of common sense! ha!

If it's been bleeding for that long, you need to see a doctor. Go to the emergency room.

If you didn't lose the joint, yes, you can. Apply pressure directly to the wound, elevate the hand, keep it wrapped in sterile bandages with ice over them.

You can call the hospital triage line for first aid advice and to get someone to help you calm down. Drink fluids, don't panic, and get comfortable.

Yes, it will need stitches. Any cut that bleeds for too long needs to be seeing immediately to avoid infection.
