surround yourself with positive people, stay calm and keep clawing at those pit walls.
many people feel like you and have gotten free and feel fantastic.
just keepin mind, that when you are back to 'normal' you will have accomplished a huge task.
stay positive son!

Without details of the circumstances involved or the nature of your malady it is extremely difficult to map any solid plan here.....
So--generalities are what is offered and generalities have to be the route toward an answer
Generally speaking-- when people are "in a pit" mentally--they are locked into a very self absorbed diagnosis of themselves and their own little set of circumstances and situations to the exclusion of almost everything else......
The best way to break this cycle is to get out of yourself for awhile and start focusing on others--- pick someone or some situation outside yourself to lock into--- If it happens to be someone---make it someone who is in real need and make it your purpose to assist this person to some better circumstance for themselves---you will not be completely through with the first little project on this front before your going to feel so much better that it will not seem to be the same life at all !!!!

Surrender and when you are in a hole number one thing...stop digging!!! Tofu said it, the universe will respond so let it and rely on that instead of your own intellect. It will work through others alot of the time. Rename your situation, pit is not a good word, start saying this is a temporary setback, that's all.

The fact that you asked means you wan't out.
And I suspect that you know as well as I do that the only way out of a pit is a shovel...Start digging my friend. There are No SuperHero's.
Pick yourself up, dust yourself off, and start all over again.

My dad was a cheerful happy man but every so often he used to " fall down the hole" which was how he described what he felt .. It used to go away on its own but the intervals between falls got smaller and smaller until one day he fell down the hole and couldnt climb out.
THEN he saw a new doctor who prescribed him Aurorix. Within 24 hours he was his old whistling self. It was magic. It seems that some of t he new antidepressants really do work

Tough job, you have to start by wording a sentence which will depict a different scenario. For eg. if you are negative thinker than start by asserting that your thoughts are positive and repeat this over and over multiple times till it kinda becomes habitual. You should be able to effectively overcome your problem. There are similar methods which have positive thoughts recorded on audio cassettes/cd's which will help you too.

You let go because your mind does not have the answers. If it did, you would have solved it already. By letting go you allow the universe to solve your problems for you. Works every time.

acceptance of the situation and its consequences THEN let it all go...move on
it may sound like an "easy-to-say-but-hard-to-do" thing but remember that the first thing you have to do is stop denying and start accepting.

If you find out, let me know!
Most people would say therapy and meds. They don't work for me.
