he'd ask her out?

Even the shyest of all men would find a way to ask her out....if he liked her enough....

fear of being rejected by a girl whom a guy likes can be overwhelming. Not taking a chance is most likely the course, not that it is the right one, just the safe one.

I gotta agree with painfullyaverage's answer. It depends on the guy's background. Someone who was popular in school or a go-getter may not have trouble, but the majority of us are shy and have had enough rejection to deal with it any more. We may leave signs showing our interest, but not much. If women want to go with tradition and have the guy ask them out and not even think of asking the guy out for a change and making the first move themselves, then those women should spend the rest of their days in the kitchen and raising kids, just like tradition. I'd prefer the women to ask us out now. Times are changed. Wear your ovaries on the outside for once!

No, it is not true. There are some people that are so painfully shy that they just cannot do it.

When I was in my early 20s I ran into a girl I knew in high school. We talked for a while and got to true confessions time. She had a crush on me for years apparently. I felt much the same. We were both to shy to do anything about it.

It happens.

Not true. Even less shy men might not ever ask her out. But there are ways to letting someone else know you like them. You could tell people that you like this person and not to tell them hoping the word will get out and it will sooner or later.

this can go 2 ways. whats stopping you from asking him out. if you like him, go for it. some guys are just as afraid of rejection as us girls are and we need to be able to do the dirty work once in awhile. maybe if you dont feel comfortable asking him out, you need to be pretty blunt with how you feel about him so that he knows he wont be rejected if asking you out. its all about finding a comfort zone for both people. i have a really good friend who is scared to death of asking girls out. he wont even ask for their phone numbers b/c hes afraid they will say no. he had so many girls turn him down in high school b/c he wasnt a good looking guy, but he looks great now. but the memories stuck. and now, he's overly intimidated by girls. my advice to you is, if you like the guy, ask him out yourself. if he likes you, it will make him feel good. and it will help to have taken the pressure off

not true. i'm so shy that i'd rather be alone than ask a girl out. not worth the risk anymore for me. i have asked a few girls out in the past though. but i'm sick of girls rejecting me or liking other guys too. not worth it. if a girl really likes me, she'll ask ME out, how's that? see, it can go both ways, but girls want guys to do all the work, what's with that? girls want to be equal, until it doesn't benefit them.
