Get either VHS camcorder or a mini-VHS camcorder.

Absolutely, you can put the DV media format on VHS tape. Basically you are purchasing a different format of video recording than VHS. You will have to playback the video though the Audio/Video jacks on you VHS player and prompt your VHS unit to record at the same time. This will allow the content on your mini DVs to be recorded to the tape in your VHS player.

Be aware; transfer process will be in "real time" and can consume and tie up your equipment for the better part of an evening. But; most of us to the same thing. So yes, never fear, you can convert your new recorder to a familiar format.

This recorder will not be able to record directly to vhs, you will need to use mini dv tapes, which can be bought wherever you find camcorders. To put the video onto a vhs tape, you would need to play the video directly from the camera into a vcr.

Yes, you can record your movies into a VHS tape. You need to use the AV output cable (you will get the cable with a new camera), and a VCR. You don't need to buy anything more.
MiniDV is the most popular recording format in recent days. It records in digital format and if you copy your movies into a computer you won't have to loss the original video quality because of it's digital format.
You can easily copy your MiniDV video to VHS tapes using a VCR.

I believe most camcorders have an AV cable that will connect the camcorder to your VCR. If this one does, you should be able to play the video on the camcorder and use your VCR to record it
