I got a new car...bless God, a porsche 911 carrera!

I wanted personal plates that say 1THES5 16

1st thesselonians 5:16 is "be joyful always"

The lady 4 weeks later at the DMV told me they were denied because of offensive material. How is being joyful while I drive a porsche offensive? What should I be, miserable??

I understand my area is highly multicultural and this could be offesnsive....but secular ones are out there that are horrible! I have seen "CHICKMAGNT" "SXMACHNE" "STNRULES" and others.

Any thoughts on this as correct? violation of my rights? Advance of secular humanism?

thanks for everyone that shares a respectful opinion....it is most welcomed

David

I'm atheist and think you have every right to express yourself. Besides that's a lot less offensive than sex machine.

Freedom of speech for everyone.

-I think the denial had more to do with gov't not promoting religion than some war against christianity. While many/most people (including me) wouldn't have a problem with it I can see why there has to be a blanket ban to be fair to all. If a muslim guy wanted an ALLAH plate I'm sure he'd be denied too. And HE'D catch a lot more flack for that plate than you would for yours even though it's no more offensive. Then he'd be complaining about a 'war against islam'. Better to leave religion out of official gov't stuff like tags.

That is absolutely a violation of your rights caused by the advance of secular humanism.
The same thing happens here in Iowa, and there is noting we can do about it.

Jesus told us this time would come.

I think perhaps it might have been misconstrued as a pedophilic advertisement....no kidding....I was looking at your desired plate personalization and figured it could be interpreted as:

1THES5 16
Want he's, 5-16 (years old)...what do you think?
