Sure. I do it all the time. I have a nylon carrier-thingy (about 12 in. high by 12 in. long by 24 in. wide) with handles that I take to the grocery store and have the clerks pack my groceries into there, which I then can place in my trunk. It's quite handy!

Sure. If you have a nylon bag that folds up small, you won't be targeted by security (-:. Be sure you keep your receipt in your bag, just in case there are any problems, but more and more people are choosing to bring their own bags.
If you always shop at the same grocery store, and always bring your bag, they will get used to you.
It's a great way to conserve paper and plastic -- those plastic grocery store bags are just about useless for anything else, aren't they?

Sure, it's a great way to conserve. I use both nylon bags and canvas bags. But some places perfer if you don't use the canvas bags or bags that they can't see through due to theft. Or some will ask you to leave them at the front of the store while you are doing your shopping. However, most stores do encourage you to use your own bags. In fact, I lived in a town where there was a Sav-A-Lot store which didn't bag your groceries for you so they could offer cheaper prices. They did, however, offer a variety of boxes from their stock room to stack your groceries in. Great way to save both money and the earth.

Some markets will even give you a few pennies off your total. May I suggest you invest in canvas bags? They last longer, are washable, and are more sturdy than paper or plastic. When we lived oversees years ago I brought my own canvas bags to the little market near our home and while we didn't speak the same language, the store owner was always grateful for my re-using cloth bags. Yes, Go for it!

My old man would say that he takes his "own bag" to the supermarket each time I am with him.... But seriously you can everywhere I have been, if it is not plastic it is environmentally friendly to take your own re-use able bag.

Use canvas totes! they're the final and once you're careful with reference to the style you %. they gained't choose washing that many times. For issues like ice cream whilst it rather is warm, i will nonetheless use a plastic bag for that. As for the luggage employing extra potential to be washed, they are in a position to comfortable be washed via hand in in basic terms a gallon or 2 of water and hung to dry. i began employing mine a pair months in the past and have not had to bathe them yet. inspite of the undeniable fact that, i'm a vegan so i do no longer ought to hassle with reference to the leaking of meat juice.....

Yes, you can. Most of the time you have to tell the bagger not to bag your purchases for you, though, because not everyone brings bags and they will bag your stuff from habit.
