Ok you guys, get this. I'm 5'2 and weigh a hefty 106 pounds!! I wear a size 3 juniors Levis and almost always size small shirts. I couldnt believe he said that. I was cooking his dinner and he came up behind me and put his arms around my waist and said "your gordita" which means fat in spanish. Well, as you can imagine, I let him have it good. With all the other problems he has caused lately, I've just had it. Do you think he was joking, or playing mind games with me to make me feel ugly or not up to his standards? I'm really hurt by this and he doesnt seem to get it. he thinks I'm wrong for getting mad. Would you be mad?

Sounds like he's a loser. If he does that again, call him "tiny" (and not in reference to his height, either).

Being he's a man (I am as well), he probably opened his mouth before his brain knew what he was saying. At least that's what I hoped happened. Visit with him about how uncomfortible this made you feel, if he "truly" cares about you, he will apologize, and both of you can work TOGETHER to further your relationship.

If he did it to be spitefull, that that's too bad for him. I still firmly believe true beauty is 100% internal. I wasn't always of this philisophy, so I learned the hard way. Some of the most beautiful people I've come to know are overweight, and some of the most cold hearted people are the ones considered "hot", "perfect" and attractive.

So shine on my friend, you are a good person inside and out, and if he can't see it, it's his loss!! God Bless

Your not fat. You only way 106 pounds, if anything you would be too skinny, but not fat. Im not sure if he was joking, only you would know that. If he wasn't joking, I would find a new b/f that likes you who you are. I don't see why you would like anyone that treats you like garbage. If your not up to his standards, why's he going out with you in the first place. You already told him how you feel and he hasn't listen, thats your cue to leave the relationship.

Get yourself some self-esteem, girl and don't let his silly jokes get to you. More importantly, though - think about the relationship as a whole. What do you mean by 'all the other problems he has caused lately'? Is this not what is really bothering you? Time for some honest talking - and don't fuzz the issue by carping on about his 'fat' joke!

Uh.. Hispanics, specially the ones from Central America use that word, like we say "Babe" "sweety""hun""bunny" If you translate those words into spanish they have no meaning or a bad one.
My roomate at College was from El Salvador and I remerber his first girlfriend kicked his *** when he called her gordita. He meant it in a sweet way but of course that cannot be understood in the anorexic society of us.
I dont think you are fat, I dont think anyone would think you are. (if you are indeed like you describe yourself)
However, if he is not latino or from latino background... kick his *** and move on!

See... it's crap like this that gives you young women eating disorders. At 5ft 2, 106 is an excellent weight. It's 'healthy'. If you start trying to get any skinnier, you'll damage your health. It's not worth it. Your BF's an idiot!
Don't believe me... just take a good look at Nicole Richie. Not good. If I were you, I'd tell him to piss-off. And if your BF wants to bang a skeleton, tell him to move to Ethiopia.

I am fat too and I'm not worried about that. I'm fat means I'm rich coz I have lots of money to buy food :-)

Fat or not - don't let that bother you. It's not the only thing that matters in this world. What matters is attitude.

And if he leaves you coz ur fat, then he doesn't love you.

Told him that you feel insulted by his remarks sweet..And see what he will answer. No girls will be happy to get those kind of remarks from her partner. He might be joking-hence a bit insensitive; or he might be serious.
PS.if he means it; tell him that he isnt Brad Pitt either, so shut up. Then think again: do you want to be with someone who is ruining ur confidence..?

Yes, I definitely think he was joking. Does he like to tease you and play games? You can't possbly be fat if you are a size 3 and 106lb, come on now! HTH : )

106 is not overweight for someone of your height, it's just right. It would be over if you were, say, 4'6, but not for 5'2.
If he said it while hugging you, it means there's more to love, he likes your body the way it is.
If it really bothers you, don't cook for him anymore, but to me it sounds ike a badly-phrased compliment.

Reading over your questions I think you have too many issues to make it work with this man. You react to him as an anglo before trying to find out the latino viewpoint. I think you need to find someone else.
