Cirrhosis of the liver is scarring on the liver that when so much of the scarring accumulates, the blood cannot pass through the liver and the liver can't filter and perform the metabolic functions that it is supposed to. It can be caused by too much alcohol consumption or from viruses like hepatitis (A, B, or C), or from damage from chemicals (either taken orally, like medications, or inhaled [fumes]). If someone has cirrhosis, they need to be seen by a specialist, such as a gastroenterologist, hepatologist, or if the cirrhosis is from a virus, then an Infectious Disease doctor. Best wishes.

It is the hardening of the liver. Which in turn causes the liver to filter wrong. Go to a clinic and ask for literature on it.
