Someone who saves up their money and buys a business.....starting off small.

My boss didnt even graduate, and he maxed out all the credit cards he had and rented a building and bought an ice cream freezer and opened up a custard shop.

Now he owns like 4 stores.

If you don't mind standing on your feet al day or working at the mall, retail would be a good choice. You won't start off making $12+ an hour, but with a good work ethic and great people skills, you can become a store manager and even work your way up to become general manager or district manager. One of my best friends is a store manager and makes a pretty decent living. She is wonderful with people, is very outgoing and fashion savvy. And if you ask her - she'll tell you she loves her job and loves the interaction with people. I also have to agree with Jojo - most jobs prefer some type of college experience. If you would like to go to college, you can always check into theri financial aid programs or get a grant from the government. If you live in a state with a lottery, your state may also have college scholarships that are funded by lottery proceeds. Additionally, colleges now have payment plan programs that allow you to pay in installmets. Sure it costs money to go to college, but it pays off in the long run. Not only do you have an edge over job seekers, but you also have a feeling of accomplishment and pride within yourself. Good luck.

While it is true that some actors do make a substantial amount of money, most of them don't.

My guess would be that in general the highest paying jobs that don't require a degree are the jobs that very few people would be prepared to do. Examples might be jobs that incur danger pay, like taking postings overseas in unsafe regions like Iraq (perhaps driving a convoy), or doing unpleasant work like cleaning up blood and gore from crime scenes.
