No, he posted bond by the next day and returned to Hawaii after apologizing to the police department and the Mexican government for breaking their laws.

He actually got a serial rapist off the street that American police had been attempting to capture for years. The rapist was a heir to a major cosmetics fortune who raped women and videotaped the rapes. He ran to Mexico which does not allow extradition to the United States. Dog and his brother and son went where American law enforcement couldn't go and removed a sexual predator before he could kill someone. Unfortunately, bounty hunting is considered kidnapping in Mexico, therefore he broke the law. Not being familiar with the customs he "accidently" jumped bail, but went back and worked something out with the Mexican government when he was arrested.

I'm from Hawaii and he still makes public apperances of all kinds. He is under house arrest, but can leave home for work. Being a public figure, he can leave the house whenever he wants almost because he can always to do a speech somewhere and for him that's work.
