Tony Robbins has an exercise on CD I got from a friend... and he talks about this.

His best advice is to NOT commit to doing it until you are ready to. REALLY READY!

the first thing I do is work on just shutting my mouth. It's hard to change negative to positive. So I start with negative to nothing at all!

When you get up, make it a practice to write down (as you brush teeth or eat breakfast or heat up something in the microwave) 3 positive things. Or 3 things you are looking forward to. Or 3 things you are thankful for. Start your day off right.

Don't listen to doom and gloom music or music that raises your blood pressure.

try yoga or running. something to RELEASE.

Start small and make it a goal to think POSITIVE for a full day. then 2 days, then 3, etc.
When you have a GOOD DAY think about how that really helps you in the long-run. Forget other people... how did it help YOU? Then, How did it help your relationships? Marriage? Example, what is the example you are now setting for your kids?

Get away from things and allow yourself to press "reset" in a way. Where is a place that relaxes you and lets you escape? Is there an author that you could read that motivates, excites you?
Determine what you are passionate about (painting, working with kids, etc. - wahtever it is!) - so something that brings you JOY again and then you can be positive on that topic. Do it more often and when more of your day is positive and you are happy and fulfilled then it will end up bleeding over to more of your day.

Is there anything you are unresolved about? Not fulfilled? Take steps to resolve that and fill you back up inside.

Those are some tips that I try.

Let us know how it works out!!!

It takes practise. It could not be done overnight. You should look for a positive thing in any given or bad situation. One specific example is this. Let's say that when on your way to work, your transport broke down. Don't fret and say that you. are unlucky. Instead be thankful that it just broke down and not had an accident. I know you get now what I mean. Always look at the "glass" as half full and not half empty. This is difficult to do, especially if you are not used to it, but with practise, you will soon acquire the habit of being an optimist and being positive. If at the first weeks, you don't succeed, try and try again until you succeed.

Hummm, Positive Thinking is based with positive attitude of the self, conviciton from within and being with people who have a positive and a healthy approach towards life for themselves and people around, firstly remember that there is no person in the world like u which makes you special and since you are a special unique human being you have a special way of living life, do what you feel like where in you progress and live with dignity don't get pulled off by critics but yes they can help you in your self growth by hearing them and going and doing something that will make them eat their words, also u can read a book " The power of positive thinking" but these books help only to an extent the best way is believe in yourself and nothing can stop you.

Oh that’s a hard one… it depends upon how you were raised. If a critical homelife, then you were trained to pick things apart, thus negative mindset. I have tried to help my friends think positive, and its something they must do for themselves. All of the pep talks in the world don’t do the trick, until they see for themselves what negative really is. See if they offer and life appreciation classes in your area. If that doesn’t help or they dont, take a trip to our nations poorest community, to help build some bed for children with no beds at all. It will give you a whole new outlook on life.

Volunteer at homeless shelters or for people with serious disabilities.

Last but not least, stay away from negative people. They only drag you down, literally. If they are family members, keep visits short. Make a new circle of friends, ones of positive minds.

Every successful person in our nation, has been a positive person who thinks outside the box.

well it is all in the attitude.

there is a simple formula which says

A = B+C

that is Attitude is the summation of your behaviour and communication.
if you can change the way you speak, it will reflect on your behaviour and in turn on the way you think. believe me ...

well ! see... let us assume ..you have an empty box. you know what is in the box and others can do so only if you show them what is inside.

you go on filing the box with your thoughts...everyday...

you fill them with all kinds of thoughts...negative and positive thoughts...

but..in your case..you are filling it with only negative thoughts. and at the end of the day when you feel like looking inside the box for something nice..you find nothing but only your negative self.is that what you want at the end of the day, week, month ...life?

instead..let us do it this way. give yourself a reward for every small good thing you do. even if it is putting your shoes in the right place.that way, you are filling your box with one complete positive appreciation. by the end of the day, you can find your box full of positive ideas.

i hope you understood it. and even if you want others to look inside, you don't have to feel afraid, 'cos you have all the nice things being stored inside.

i hope you are going to give yourself a chance to find a completely new positive human being within you...all the best...
