Why would it be? Aloe vera ( Aloe barbadensis ) is probably the most widely used medicinal plant in the world. It is originally from Africa.
The gel , which is directly extracted from the plant is usually mixed with a base preparation before being sold commercially. These bases come in many forms

In the world we live in it seems anything can be a carcinogen, or atleast that's what has been drilled into our skulls. Everything in the world contains atoms, and because of that everything randomly emits Free radicals. Free radicals are atomic particles that manage somehow to free them selves from their home atom and go flying off into the world. This said, those free radicals can, by colliding with DNA, cause it to mutate and form cancer cells as a result. Because of this anything can be a carcinogen..... HOWEVER, certain materials, chemicals, ect... are naturually or unnaturally unstable, like uranium... they give off more radicals than normal. These are what we normally see as carcinogens.

But as for aloe Vera Gel... no it's not a carcinogen, could it cause cancer? Well yes, but the odds are next to impossible.
