It is in Matthew 19:6 where it says : So that they are no longer two, but one flesh. Therefore, what God has yoked together let no man put apart.
You become one with each others thoughts and expectations. Yes you will have disagreements but you learn to discuss things and negotiate and compromise and get on with things.

1 corinthians 7:4 does not use the term "yoked", but it does deal with the equality of partners within a marriage; perhaps moreso than the passages stated above.

"Unequally YOLKED"

As in with oxen. The contraption (yolk) that binds them together with the plow. If you have one strong and the other weak, the strong one has to make up for the weak.

In this instance, we are warned not to be held back, or down, by our spouse's lack of belief or immaturity.

I think it has to do with the verse about the egg since the yolk contains colesteral I do not think that be a yolky egg I do wish to touch.
