Do you want to like them? If you really dislike them, then so what? You dont have to like everything! As long as you aren't mean to them, you may not like them but they are animals and they still have feelings! Just leave them alone and you should be fine!
Don't worry about hating cats, I hate frogs. They make me physically sick, no kidding!

What did a cat do to you for you to freakin' hate them so much? Stay away from them is a good idea. Don't date a girl that loves cats. Just to let you know ,there are laws against cruel and abusive acts toward any animals . Oh and I wouldn't tell to many women your hangup, you wont be very well liked.

If you are asking because you for some reason would like to change how you feel about cats, then I'd think you just haven't found the right cat yet. We have many, and they all have very different personalities. My husband who doesn't much care for cats either even honestly likes one of ours, the rest he tolerates because he loves me and the cats and I are a package deal.
If you're asking because you honestly don't know, then I suggest you use a little common sense and just stay away from them and those that like or love cats. The cats will be most gratefull for your thoughtfullness.

Why do you hate them? All cats, like humans, have their own personality. Did you have a cat one time with a bad personality?
My hubby said he hated cats too, but knowing I loved them, he let me get two anyway. (He's a darling)! Anyway, these make him laugh with the zany things they do, so now, he still says he hates 'em, but he sure enjoys the funny things they do.

Go to your local shelter and spend some time around the kittens, playing with them and watch how entertaining they can be. You may not really dislike cats after all. Have fun!!

I freakin hate people, especially ignorant fools like yourself. Yet I seem to be encountering them everywhere, someone should do something about them... like a universal law that bans the reproduction of fools, or calls for the execution of any existing ones.

Spend some time with a cat and learn to love it. Don't abuse it just treat it with mutual respect and once the cat comes to love you, you won't hate them anymore.
