Because it's typically illogical. The thing about Jesus, was he never really said much about the world ending, etc. He actually said very little in the Bible, but what he said all basically boils down to "Be a good person, and try to be a good example for others."

and raised the dead.There is enough historical record to back Him up,

Some people also thought Jesus was crazy, and yes, He was locked up -- not to mention crucified.

different people, different beliefs. Most of the time, people like that are locked away for their own protection. The last thing this world needs is another Crucifixion.
