they were pagans.... they believed in many gods and that each god resided in a certain place. among the reasons that they were so threatened by the idea of One God who is everywhere was the fact that their economy was based on ppl coming to their city to visit their gods. even though their women were treated as slaves or whores, many of the gods they prayed to were female

Pagans(majority) , some were still following Abraham's belief ,those who didnt believe in worshipping idols ,christians,jews

Few Arab Jews & Christians. The rest pagans worshipping idols, while still remembering Abraham (pbuh), who worshipped the one and only God.
