I have a friend who's a nutritionist! He would tell you, "it's just a little extra protein"! Their bow weevils by the way. Their eggs are in just about every thing you buy. They lay they're eggs on the plant when it's in the Field!!

This is a great question. I assume you mean whole grains when you say meal...or maybe oats? wheat/ etc? I will tell you that if the bugs like it, its good stuff. If its been sprayed with pesticides and fungicides, nothing likes it because it is no longer fit food for even the bugs. If you buy unsprayed grains, check it carefully for insects., They are inherently native to the grain and live in the seed probably. Pick out all bugs or if there's too many--give it to the birds. If the grain is pretty clean, store it in the frig. If you store it in the pantry, put eucalyptus or bay leaves on the shelves but check it periodically for bugs.

They enter the Food Process at Source(When the Food is being packaged or Manufactured),or it enters whilst being Prepared(Kitchen)
Bad Food Handling Skills are Not Only Detrimental to the Eater(Both for personal Health reasons),but also bad for the Establishment that is providing the Food!

They are eggs that are already there. They aren't harmful in fact you are eating them all the time. Did you know in canned tomatoes there may be the equivalent of 20 fruit fly maggots... Bon appetit.
