It's just a scare tactic. Don't worry about it...tell them your not interested in their beliefs. Period.

It's amazing to me how some can ask questions and automatically group ALL christians or ALL muslims or ALL persons of any religion into one. This is a problem many have on this site. The question should have been..."Why do SOME christians threaten people with going to hell, blah...blah...blah...". My answer to your question would then be...If a person is a true believer in God, Christian or otherwise, then they would first explain that God is a God of love. Second, they wouldn't tell you that not converting to their religion will end up with the non-converter going to hell. A reader and studier of the Bible would know that God says He is the only One to judge others because He is the only One that know the true feelings and intentions of the heart. If you hear otherwise, I suggest that you ignore these so called "christians" because they are no better off than an unbeliever.

Well, I'm a Christian and I suer don't do that. I may not agree with what other people believe, but I don't go around saying "YOU'RE ALL DAMNED TO HELL!!!!!" lol! The Bible says "Judge not lest ye be Judged." We don't know who's a child of God and who's not. The best example of this is the theif on the cross. Who would've thought that a man being crucified would actually be a child of God? The point is, anyone that judges other people or threaten that they'll go to Hell because they don't believe a certain way is in the wrong, and THEY need to repent and beg for mercy.

I'm sorry if you have received threats of hell if you don't "convert" to Christianity. That is not the way the gospel should be presented. The gospel means "good news". But honestly, there is a heaven and a hell, and the bible says the only way to God, and the only name under heaven by which any man might be saved, is Jesus Christ. That is not a threat, I am just reporting what I believe to be the truth.

It is up to you whether to believe that or not. I say it not to threaten, but as a friend might, to point the way to something that is very important for you to consider.

I agree. I don't believe in scaring people into believing something and it's really old fashioned. I am a Christian, but not an in your face Christian and I can respect other peoples beliefs. I think a lot of people try to make religion too complicated. Christianity should simply be a belief system to help you grow in God and church should be a humble place were Christians can get together to fellowship, encourage, and spend time with other people that have a similar belief system.

*sighs* I've read many "scare tactic" answers and "I've never heard that!" gotta wonder if it came from Christians who would obviously never hear that they were going to hell for not believing in Jesus. And I even read a "what's wrong with hell, it's warm" when I've been told that the seventh level of hell is complete ice, but that's just an added comment.

In reality I think it's a hopeful wish. Those who are saying these things don't want "nonbelievers" in heaven because that would prove that their religion isn't teh best and the only one people can or should follow.

It's no threat or scare tactic Christians don't want to see anyone go to hell neither does God or Christ there is no conversion all you have to do is believe Jesus was God he was sent to take your place so you wouldn't have 2 die the second death which is hell which is eternal separation from God and his Love. It's your choice no one is forcing you to do anything just letting you know where you may be headed.

if u think about that, muslims do that to, especially muslim fathers. my sister's bf is muslim and his father wont even look at her unless she converts. at times, minimal times, he nods his head to acknowledge she's there but doesnt say anything to her unless she converts. with christianity, u have different sects, just like they do in islam. u have christians who believe the whole bible is true, u have christians who believe that the new testament is true, u hav christians who believe in the ten commandments and who believe more of the old testament and heaven and hell, and u hav christians who believe in jesus. the ones who believe the whole bible to be true u should really look out for because they interpret everything literally. in islam, u have the sunnis and the shi'ites. the shi'ites and the ones who interpret the qur'an literally, word for word, and they're the muslims to look out for. the sunnis read the hadith and dont necessarily believe that the entire qur'an is based on fact. they're way better than the sunnis. i guess what im trying to say is that people are taught a certain way, whether by family or by school, or even just reading something like the bible, or by going to church, so whatever is taught to them they tend to rely on as truth. seriously, if that ever happens to u where sum1 says to u that you're going to hell if u dont convert into a christian, ignore them. believe in what u want to believe in

The message is right but most christians have a problem with their delivery method. My duty as a Christ follower is to save other people's souls. Not by threats, but by showing God's love and acceptance of everyone. I'm sorry you felt threatened. However, it doesn't change the truth.

I am a Christian - but I do believe that it is important to respect others and their beliefs. I usually dont like to force anyone into believing or arguing about religious/spiritual things. God calls people to Him. He lets us know when our hearts are ready to receive Him. Thats what I believe - if the time is right then that's great. If it isnt, then let it be.

i'm only answering in accordance to Christian theology. Please do no longer hate me even nonetheless i'm a Christian. besides, it extremely is not approximately us and how we can experience. it extremely is extremely approximately attempting to get extra souls in Heaven for the reason that's what God needs. the element is the Bible says, "now is the day of salvation." So now, the important element is is that we do care and we are able to attempt to improve our numbers all we are able to in the past God gets rid of that choose from us. because of the fact as quickly as we die, the paintings is over and there is no longer something we are able to do approximately it. So it extremely is clever that God would not enable us to difficulty and grieve approximately all of it eternity for no longer something. it extremely is the way I, as a Christian, think of approximately it. lower back, i'm no longer forcing you to have self belief the way I do. I, in my opinion, am no longer vulnerable to talk approximately my faith except i'm beneficial it extremely is welcomed and the different individual is pleased with that. Which i'm assuming you have been when you consider which you asked a query approximately it...
