My gf & I are both asians, can I get a PR status if we get married in London?

My girlfriend and I are both Asians planning to get married in London. I am currently working here in Singapore and plan to visit her next month. If my girlfriend is holding a PR status, do they honor our civil marriage in London to acquire for my PR status? How long will it take? What visa should i take so that i can stay longer inside UK?
