Gotta agree with Vicks 44D. There is no other liquor I've ever tasted that could compare.
It's always shots of Jager.
For additional punishment, try a 50/50 mix of Jager and Rumplemintz in a shot. We always called it The Attitude Adjustment.

I compare the taste to Vick's Formula 44 Cough Syrup. I tried a JagerBomb once and thought it sucked so if I am going to drink some it is straight for me.

For the same money, try Barenjager honey liqueur. Jagermeister tastes like gooey cough syrup.

I always thought it tasted much like cough syrup too. However, while in Germany I usually drank it as the Germans did: straight, and usually after an evening meal to help relax and settle a person's stomach.

Cough syrup meets black licorice.
I prefer to drink it as a Red Headed Sl*t. This is Jager, peach schnapps, and cranberry juice shaken with ice and served as a shot.

I think it tastes like sweet herbs. It's good in a Jager bomb. Take half a glass of red bull and drop a shot, glass and all, of jager into the red bull and skull. It's great.

it tastes very cough syrupy. and i prefer a jager bomb, which is a shot of jager and red bull. but i actually try not to drink too much jager because there are 110 calories in a shot. and that is a lot of calories.

It kinda says it on the bottle if I remember correctly. "For medical use." Tastes like a can of highly refined oil mixed with a strong pinch of licorice drug through a pile of feces..
to each ttheir own though.
