I have a research paper due 12/15 (its a sociology paper, "the role of gender in mass media") before the end of the semester, and it has to be at minimum 7 pages long. If i hand it in by tomorrow, i get 10 extra points added on to my grade. Im on beginning of page 3 of 7, and i havent even begun to cite any of my sources yet. [that i could just BS, but im starting to hit writers-block]

so do i not get the 10 extra points added on to my grade, and hand in a good paper, or do i finish by tonight, get the 10 extra points, but have it be a crappy paper?!

I still get general credit for handing it in either way (if we dont hand it in by 12/15, we automatically fail the class)....but i REALLY want those 10 points, but i dont want to pull an allnighter

Oh, and im doing good in the class otherwise

HELP!!!!!

This is what I do when I'm in your situation:
First of all.. you've started! Congrats. That's 3 less pages you have to do tonight!
Secondly.. It won't be a crappy paper if you just sit down, say to yourself, Focus and Concentrate for a few hours and get it done! Remember, this is One night you might have to stay up pretty late just so you can get the 10 extra points and a good grade, as well as maintain your already good grade! I say go for it. I'm sure there has been many times you've stayed up late/pulled an all-nighter partying.. (which in anyones defense is a lot easier, laid-back and funner).. but you need this! Go For It! You will thank yourself in the end!! I promise.. --so long as you write it to the best of your ability.. also, if in the end you just aren't pleased with it, don't hand it in! Work on it some more and improve it and you will still get a good grade and be proud of your work! Good Luck!

Do not rush it. Do a good job. Our Prof. is totally picky about each and every detail: content, grammar, citations...the works! I worked on my paper for over six weeks and it's finished. Yea!!!! Just do a good job, bc in the end, that's what counts. If you have a less-than picky Prof, then maybe you can push it through early for the extra points. You have to make that call. Good luck!
