There might be a problem with either or both the windows explorer or internet explorer. Firefox has nothing to do with this. Did this happen after you updated windows or something like that??

You can remove IE7 and see if it works. Also, check the below help articles from Microsoft:

If Windows is your default browser, dump firefox and see if this clears your problem. If it does you know you have a software conflict.

Defender is new, and may not have taken Firefox into account yet. This would be an unsurprising issue and will most likely be resolved quickly.

If it isn't contact either Microsoft or Firefox.

Windows Explorer is the backbone of your computer. If the file is corrupted you may be able to do a system restore. But if things keep going downhill you will have to do a system recovery with your start up disks which will erase everything and start you back from scratch. Good luck.

There appears to be an issue with explorer.exe on your computer. I would remove firefox from your computer, install Internet Explorer 7 from microsoft.com website, and then reinstall firefox. This should clean up the errors.
