So, I'm about to turn 21 and want to have a good time. I plan to drink with a friend of mine. Any suggestions to some awesome drinks? We'll be doing most of our drinking from home--I've heard there are some excellent mixed drinks, I'd love to know how to make them. Also, being that this will be my first time, any tips, suggestions, warnings, or just general info, would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks!!

Try to refuse ALL the free shots and drinks. Steady yourself...since you don't drink, try 1-2 drinks an hour or else you're going to be having a puking fest most of your 21st birthday. Don't forget, do about 2-4 shots for your bday....You only turn 21 once (just don't go overboard with the shots and drinks)

WARNING, do no drink Long Island's...too much alcohol.

If you're a girl, try mixed, fruity drinks because they usually have less alcohol.
If you're a guy drink beer.

Have fun and be responsible. Don't forget to have a designated driver or take a taxi cab.

This is such a good drink, don't know exactly what to call it but here it goes....

you will have to experiment with the exact measurements of each of these to get the best flavor..

mix together

Sunny D california orange drink
Vodka
1-2 teaspoons of fruit punch flavored Minute maid frozen juice
3 or 4 ice cubes

I tend to use 4 ice cubes, 2 teaspoons of the fruit punch minute maid frozen juice, 1/4 to 1/2 cup of vodka and finish it off with the sunny d up to the top of a frosted frozen glass and just mix the mixture up with a teaspoon... mmmmmm mmmmmm good

Be sure to eat several hours before drinking to keep from getting sick and like another member told you, Don't drink and drive, please
have a great time

A birthday party is not a good time to introduce yourself to alcohol! You will inevitably regret it in the morning, then maybe that is a good scenario, it's called experience, you'll learn. If by 21 yrs. of age you have not encountered alcohol maybe you should ask the question, "do I need it?" There is nothing sadder than a "birthday boy" flat out on his bed and sick before the party has really started to buzz. Take your time, if you must drink then go for a light fruit punch, survive the evening, be pleasant to your guests, make a nice speech. This is rite of passage and you need to be fully"with it" to enjoy. Explore alcohol later!!

Well, You can try something light like a Shandy. (Beer + Sprite) as if you are a first timer in alcohol.
If you looking for something tastier & heavier, can always try Jack Daniel + Coke with a slice of lemon on top( of course, on the rock). You can measure the amount of the whisky flavour you like, according to your need by blending in with more coke.

If you are going to quality establishments check out the menu. If it's their special, it's probably good.

HIgh price will not guarantee quality, but cheap wil guarantee crap.

Captain and Coke never fails. Don't drink and drive.

Don't mix clear liquor with dark liquor (unless its a Long Island).
Drink water in between your drinks (hangover reasons)
DON'T start off with beer and then jump to hard liquor and back again.
Don't drink cheap liquor.

and most importantly!!!

DON'T drink and drive

Have fun!!!

it is all up to you...
but a piece of advice for you. take 500mg of tylonol before you go drinking. and for every 2 drinks, chug down a decent size glass of water. and drink a big glass of water before you go to sleep. your head, and your gut will be thanking you for it in the morning.
remember hangovers are caused by being dehydrated.

21 is an age to celebrate.
as you have never drank, don't start with mixed drinks, they
can be very treacherous.
I'd say champagne,real champagne.expensive but harmless
