I am happy with my loved ones, but I am drawn to the Oregon Coast, and Washington, or northern california, I feel like I am living in the wrong place, it is a very wierd feeling, It is so cold where I live, and everyone is so mean, economy is bad, I will most likely have to move, but I don't want to leave the people I love.

I moved over two years ago, away from my parents, kids and grandkids. They all live in Oregon, and I had lived there all my life, as well. I am still in the Pacific Northwest, but up north about 600 miles ... and I love it! This was an excellent choice for me. I needed a new start, fresh surroundings, a new life in many ways. I still see my family several times a year at least, and keep in touch via internet and telephone. I live in Canada now, and think it's great. Also, I have never lived in a major international city before, and this is a nice change, for now, anyway.

I am a Filipino American. I grew up here in the Philippines. I had stayed in San Francisco last Christmas because I took an examination. The family who adopted me were good however, I really cried that Christmas. Definitely there is no place like home. San Francisco is definitely a lovely city, it is known world wide but its beauty is superficial because I dont have my parents & sister there.
Though I passed the examination , I am still having mixed emotions. Many people are dying to be in my place, being an American but I am still confused.

I know the feeling. I live in Hawaii. I was born and raised here and lived here all my life. Yet I have never felt I have belonged. My cousins fit in very well and love it here. Yet I find that the older I get the more I feel constricted. This place may be a very special place for some, but I know in my heart it is not the right place for me.
