My cats like going outside, but is it bad for them to go out when it starts to snow, I know their fur keeps them warm but I still worrie.

No, it doesn't hurt to put your cats out in the cold as long as you know they are safe outside and you check on them. My parents' cats barely come in the house at all. They made a cathouse for them lined with styrofoam insulation and a blanket just in case they need somewhere to warm up. The box is fairly small (just a little bigger than one cat) and has an opening only big enough for the cat to get through. They have one on the back porch and one on the front with the openings facing away from any wind source. I think they have recently also installed a kitty door on the garage for when it gets bitterly cold (their kitties are almost feral). Try to bring them inside over night whenever possible as the temperatures dip very low at night.

That really depends on the cat. Some of them are obviously smarter than others. Mine was born behind a dumpster and was taught by her stray mom how to survive in the city from day one. I feed her the highest quality cat food and she's now very tame to me, but she has the know-how to avoid cars, distrust strangers, and doesn't pick fights. I keep her vaccinations up to date.

An indoor cat that was in-bred within a safe, controlled environment will not have the same survival odds outside.

I let my cats play in the snow but no more than 20 mins. Nevedr did harm them, but you must remember that their paws are nor covered in fur! The felash pads get icy and so do their ears - so, rule of thumb, NOT TOO LONG out there. And let them do it only when you can be out there with them supervising.
