Yes. The job of pimping was usually done by the girl's father. He would sale her to a man who could pay the price or someone whom he would like to have closer family, social, financial relations with. That is why a woman would be stoned if it became known that she was not a virgin. She was no longer worth anything to the family, and she may have possibly put bad feelings between her family of origin and the family she married into, because they sold "damaged goods".
That is why I don't believe the Bible. An all-knowing creator of all people would not use (or allow lawful use) any of his children this way.

Pimps c'mon get real, back then they were swapping sisters wives and cousins to populate the world, who needed a pimp? A woman was consdered a prostitute if she had sex out of wedlock.Which by the way is still a belief in the middle east you get caught your both dead. I had a friend who was in desert storm and he had the unfortunate experience of whitnessing this punishment. She was stoned to death by her family, the guy was hung by his family.

There is not much mention of pimps in the ancient world. I think prostitutes were free agents.
