its bad to be suicidal regardless of religion.

It is wrong to be suicidal regardless but especially so if you know the life-changing power of salvation through Jesus Christ. A Christian understands that God puts us through tests and challenges not to punish us but to help us turn to Him for strength and to grow as Christians. The Bible says He will not put on us more than we can bear. If you are at the point where you feel you are so overwhelmed that you can't take anymore maybe you need to stand back and look at it from that perspective. You must be a really STRONG person to endure whatever you are going through. Even if you don't KNOW that strength is in you it's there.

As a Christian you also have to know that suicide is a sin that can't be forgiven because it's the final act of your life. Once it's done there's no changing your mind. It's an "out of the frying pan and into the fire" scenario - literally!

Whatever you are facing today can change tomorrow. Don't give up your faith and whatever you do don't consider for one more moment taking your life. Run to God and to those in leadership around you, such as your Pastor, for strength. Get help. Death is NOT help but certain eternal destruction.

Saying a prayer for you right now! God bless & keep you!

Suicidal thoughts are just that, thoughts. A psychologist will tell you that thoughts are netieher good nor bad. I've been where you are and it's not ever "wrong" to be suicidal. Just don't do it. I don't know what you believe about where people who commit suicide go when they die but know that life is worth living. I found myself in the Catholic cemetery crying my eyes out today but I was in the section of babies who died (because of a sibling I lost) and I was close to suicidal thoughts but I'm glad I'm alive. God had a plan for me and I'm sure he has one for you too.

Go seek help. My therapist is actually the one who got back into religion. And I don't know if you're Catholic or not but look up Saint Dymphna, patron saint of mental illness. I pray for intersession everyday. But prayer obviously doesn't do everything. You need to help yourself and youneed a therapist... You don't need pills though... but don't get me started on that.

I am studying to be a social worker and am a devout Christian so don't listen to people who put yopu down for being suicidal. The true Christians will pray for you and try to help. If you want you can message me... Good luck to you. I will add you in my prayers to Saint Dyphna tonight..

I would never say to someone who was feeling suicidal that it was "wrong". Those feelings are rooted very deeply in despair and a lack of hope. Anyone can be at a terrible place in their life, even a Christian. I would hope if you are feeling this way (if you are talking about yourself)..that you will reach out to other Christians who can help you, kindly, not in a condemning way...to find your footing and remember who you are in Jesus Christ.

Every religion condemns suicide, I use to think it was because they wanted to control people, but now i gather it is not good for the soul because of the hurt it spreads to others.. when living is supposed to be giving..... but no it is not wrong....... it just is ...that we live in a society that we hurt,,,,, we all feel it....it is just that some repress the emotions and only show a mask to others... I also gather that the most suicidal people are special,,,,,, they are somewhat gifted in that they are usually empaths or soaking up other peoples repressed pain......

You know, I think God truly judges us on an individual basis. Recently attended funeral of someone who committed suicide. People who go through this act are depressed, lonely, afraid, unstable, and most likely mentally ill. They feel as if suicide is the only answer. They don't want to burden anyone with their problems and therefore decide to check out permanently. God knows people's hearts. Only He can judge.

No it is not wrong.
as a christian, the suicidal person would have to give up all their pain, and sorrow, and trust in God that he has his/her best interest at heart.
It also wouldn't be a bad idea to go to the Dr. and get some meds while he/she goes to counseling.

I think everyone goes through deep times of depression. What would be wrong is to be suicidal, not have anyone to pray or talk to, and then end up killing yourself. Remember, God promises that He will never abandon or forsake us. Yes, He might feel distant at times, but He is always there for us.

Many people struggle with depression, including Christians. I know of missionaries who have, after years work, become depressed and committed suicide. This, of course, is not the best option.

If you are having such thoughts, you need to seek out professional help. I have struggled with intense depression before and I'd be glad to swap emails with you if you need. Contact me through my avatar.

It's wrong to be suicidal. Don't add guilt on top of that.

Get help! See your family doctor for a start. There is help for depression. You can spend tomorrow digging a deeper hole of depression or spend tomorrow climbing out of the hole, just a little bit. I hope you choose to climb out!
