It's a chicken or the egg problem.
Do we believe in an eternal, larger than life God because the universe is so awesome and well organized that it must have been made by a Higher Power? Do we believe in God because we find evidence of His creation and as one of His creations we have this burning desire for a relationship with Him?
Or do we believe there is no God, because we can't prove he exists? Do we choose to believe that the intricate systems of the universe that are so fragile, sophisticated and interdependent are nothing more than a bunch of coincidences and atomic mattter smashed together that by chance caused all this loveliness, mystery, longing and pain? And that by chance, it will disappear?
Prove that God exists or does not exist, and you will find a winner between Atheist and Spiritualist.

The outcome of particular debates depends on the skill and knowledge of the participants. But I do think that a skilled atheist will always be able to beat a skilled theist. There aren't very many good arguments theists can make. Most of them are appeals to subjective prejudices that rely on the audience already being biased toward theism.
QWERTY: the religious person would lose that debate easily, because its obvious that the burden of proof is on them, not the atheist. For example, I do not have proof that Zeus does exist. Do you have proof that Zeus does not exist? No? So with lack of proof on both sides, do we conclude that its more likely that Zeus does or does not exist?

They may think they do, but in the end they will not when they are burning in hell. True believers realize that not everything can be explained with facts and reason, and that atheists were usually put through some kind of trauma to waive their faith. Besides, scientists are now saying that there IS evidence of a higher being. no atheist will ever shake my beliefs, nor will they shake any true Christian.

Who wins a debate is all up to intrepretation. The religious are sure they won, and the athiest are sure they won. In the end no one has really won because no one has real proof either way. And theology can make for some logical arguments too, especially when paired with psychology... But just my opinion. No one is a winner.

Ya, look at their amazing open minded arguments here....
Most athiests think they win and Christians think they win because we only see our argument as making sense. Personally I dont believe just by faith, but by the many miracles I have seen and felt.
The real winner is the one who can see both argumants and acept them for what they are openly.
Just my 2 cent!

No. The greatest debator in history is Satan. He has debated with many a people about their beliefs, but in the end, Satan will lose and will be cast into the eternal lake of fire. I suggest that all atheist try to disprove the existence of God and Jesus, and then they will see the truth because God and Jesus cannot and will not ever be disproved.

not always its according to how open minded both debtors are and how well they can stand there ground, also debates usually boil down to evidence and when Atheist ask do have proof of God? The religious person should ask do you have proof there isn't one?
