I usually get a sore throat before I'm sick too! It's so annoying, like your body's giving you a warning message!
Drink warm lemon cordial with honey, and suck on hard candy.

It could easily be an allergy if you have no symptoms such as fever, headache, congestion etc. It's easy to get a sore throat if you breathe through your mouth all night long while you are trying to sleep. (has happened to me -thought I was sick) Try taking some Claritin D in the morning for a few days. Also drink plenty of water. Hot tea is good with some lemon or honey. Try to stay away from caffeine as it dehydrates you. No smoking either. Happy Turkey Day

do the saltwater gargle every couple of hours, make sure you spit alot, get the mucus out. gross I know. but it helps. Start taking tylenol too. I also rub my throat with Aspercreme or Bengay or any muscle pain reliever I have. It really helps! And you want to keep sipping on hot liquids, hot lemonade w/ honey is good for you. Get your rest too. And save some turkey in the freezer til you feel better.

I usually get sick around thanksgiving too. i don't understand why. Anyway, i recommend gargling with salt water. Also drink plenty of water. I don' t want to recommend taking medication for something that isn't fully in effect yet. Good luck.

I am no doctor but does this more like alergy? It hard to determine your alergy unless you see your doctor.
I tried Hot and Sour soup and it work like a charm for removing sore throat. In theory, the hot spiceiness remove the inflamation in your throat that causes irritable movement and cause you to more likely to throw up. Stay away from dairy because they can increase sore throat problem. Anything hot and spicy would be your best remedy to fight sore throat.

Get as much sleep as possible, stay hydrated - lots of clear liquids. Do not use menthol type lozenges as they will only irritate the throat.
Wash your hands often.
Try not to talk (or whisper).
I'm not sure if it works of it's just a placebo effect but I also use Airborne.
