Yes, Christians are indeed blessed. They are the *new* chosen people, but they are no longer bound by any of the 613 laws of the *old* chosen people. Now that they are the *chosen* people, they are the only ones with reservations in heaven; no self-responsibility (Jesus came to save them) and everyone else burns in hell's fire for eternity.
Glory halleluya! Life is good!!!!!! Praise the lord!

Actually, the Old Testament says not to eat shellfish ... but the New Testament says that it's okay to eat anything.
This is one of many Old Testament teachings that are superceded by New Testament teachings.
This is not the case with homosexuality, though. Nothing in the New Testament supercedes the Old's teachings on homosexuality.
On the contrary, the New's teachings on homosexuality clearly back up and reaffirm the Old's.
So, if this was a veiled attempt to justify homosexuality on Biblical grounds, it's just been debunked.

The bible also says you can't sleep with you wife in the same bed if she's having her period.
It says you're not supposed to shave.
You're not supposed to look at another attractive woman.
you can't do anything on Saturday but rest and party.
There's alot of thing in the Christian Holy Bible, but the trick is to find the context that it was written in . For example..
Vengeance is mine, sayeth the Lord. Does that mean God said I could have vengeance, or that vengeance belongs to God? It all depends on the context.
You have to keep reading. God told Peter that the animals of the world were considered " Spiritually Clean ". Don't just pick out parts that you can sling verses with. you have to read the whole thing.

I believe many old testament laws were for the health of people back then...and shellfish populations usually are the first indication of water pollution issues....
