leader of all the other lesser gods (angels) ? Angels apparently have no origins in the 'good books' . They must have been incorporated in monotheism directly from polytheism . Do you understand what I'm trying to say ? What do you think ?

mintee : I know you don't worship them , that's why you're monotheistic . I'm saying that monotheism is directly derived from polytheism .

at the time that the idea of angels came about, the writers of the bible need a way to convert people with the belief in more than one god so they would be able to control them. the people at that time would had a hard time believing that 1 god could do everything so they made up some helpers and stole this and that from other religons mostly stealing the image of other gods to make them look evil

its possible.

The key difference though between Monotheism and Polytheism is. That a Monotheist will only worship the main creator, while the Polytheist will worship his other creations.

NO.. In islam, christianity and Judism.. angels are a seperate creation by God. They are servants of God and do not have free will.. They only do what they are told.. They have certain jobs.. Like Gabriel does all the delivering of messages to prophets etc.. There are angels assigned to escort us after death, guardian angels, angels that record our deeds etc.. They are not.. NOT lesser gods... We do not worship them..

I think you don't know what you are talking about. The angels are not gods, they are created beings. God created them just as he did everything else.
