my daughter has been using their products for one year now, her face is so different ,She's very happy! her physician told me that she can use it longer, or stop and see if your skin has changed .. I guess sometimes your skin tends to change after using certain products for a lengthily period of time( not in all cases) I say and recommend proactiv!!!! again long term use is different for everyone... BTW my daughter no only got rid of her acne but also shes not pale looking either, her skin is beautiful... she was a very unhappy girl b4 starting this product

The key ingredient in Proactiv is Benzoyl Peroxide, which works as a peeling agent. May I suggest you not use it for a long term, as it decrease the sun protectivity of your skin and may cause sunburn; as your skin is peeled, it becomes more sensitive to sunlight. If you're really desperate, why not try it one or two terms or until your acne has improved, because Benzoyl Peroxide is relatively safe and effective for acne treatment. A few little tips, avoid direct sun exposure when using Proactiv, and avoid eye and lip areas, because it can make your skin dry.

I am telling you straight up that Proactive is awsome! my brother had horrible acne and he began to use proactive and his face cleared right up. But when he stopped he began to break out again. I dont know for sure if you continuosly have to use it but if you do trust me its not that hard and not that big of a deal. Would you rather live a life with a horrible face of acne or live a life with clean clear skin?

Pretty much all acne medication has to be used continuously unless you "grow out" of acne. I think at 23 you are probably going to have it to some degree for the rest of your life. Proactiv is just benzoyl peroxide and alcohol repackaged. The real secret to its success is that it makes you follow a regimen of washing your face prior to using the medication every day. You would have the same result washing your face and using benzoyl peroxide cream and the clearasil alcohol pads. For more severe acne, you can get prescriptions from a dermatologist for antibiotics or, sometimes, Accutane.

Ok first up if your acne is seriously bad step 1: go and see a derminologist ( docter for your skin) she/he will beable to tell you what face cleansers to use and maybe recommend you go on the pill. Secound of all i recomend the book gorgeous skin for teens. Its is a book that tells you what you should and shouldnt eat, about ways to make your skin glow it is the best book ever and works magic. Also coverin you face in honey 4 times a week and keaving it on for 10 mins works wonders for me. If you also have back acne rub your body in olive oil before your shower then once in the shoewer pour a cuP of milk all over your body. These are my favourite tricks. Remeber the saying you are what you eat suggary fatty foods will make your acne flare veges and fruits wil make your skin glow. Change your pillow case once a week and drop a few drops of lavender on your pillow before you sleep this wIll help you sleep deeper. Sleep helps your skin glow and repair itslelf. Remeber dont touch you face if you can help it through out the day as this will make your skin dirty cloggin poors that produces acne. Good luck stay stong :)

What do you think? Proactiv is just like any other cleanser that you use! You dont just stop washing your face all together because your face is looking a bit clearer do you? Of course you have to keep using it.

i used proactive for about 3 months. then my acne cleared up, and i started using a good skin care regimen. Cleanse, exfoliate, tone, use sun screen, and moisurize daily. After 2 weeks you will be amazed at how your skin changes.

I use Mary Kay Timewise; www.marykay.com/jaclyndk19

It is actually cheaper than ProActive, and it lasts longer !!

Don't waste your money! I bought it when it first came out, and used it for the entire term. DID NOT DO ANYTHING TO MY SKIN. I paid 40.00 for it at that time. When I see all these celebrities saying that it changed their lives and made their skin so perfect I want to puke. Eat healthy, exercise, and drink plenty of water and use a moisturizer. Thats the only thing I know of thats really good for the skin. Good luck!

it depends on the sensitivity of your skin. my sister tried some on her and although it helped, it also caused more damage to her skin because her skin is very sensitive. the way it's supposed to work is that you would see results in about two weeks and u hav to keep using it to maintain clear skin. u dont hav to spend your whole life using it. once it's down to your preferred look, then u dont hav to keep using it. but u hav to b careful cos once u stop using it, it may cause breakouts
