Possibly because it is too dry. Try a humidifier.

Sometimes it's due to dryness, sometimes it's due to picking the nose (yes most kids do this) sometimes it's due to other factors...

Try using Capsicum (cayenne pepper pills) you can find them in the vitamin section of any store usually under $6.00 for 100 pills... Have your child take one each day with a glass of milk and a meal to avoid stomach upset.. They will either eliminate or decrease the number and severity of the bleeds within a week...

My older brother had nose bleeds so bad rolling over on the pillow at night would cause one.. Capsicum solved the problem within a week... He now takes them maybe 3 weeks a year when he has a bleed and for about a week after the bleed... Worked for my son as well...

Cayenne pepper is also good for stopping severe external bleeds.. Because it does burn you don't want to use on minor cuts but if you have a cut that is gushing blood sprinkle with pepper and it will coagulate the blood slowing the bleeding.... Buying you some time to get the injured party to medical attention... Used it when my 17 yr old son put his hand through the barn window when he was stacking hay... He cut his hand and forearm very badly it was squirting blood sprinkled with the pepper and applied pressure by the time we got 4 miles from the house (It's a 25 mile trip to the ER) he was no longer bleeding at all and was able to relax a little because blood wasn't dripping out from under the pressure bandage... He prolly wouldnt have lost enough blood to die before we got to the ER but to have him calm down was well worth it...

He or she has a weak vein in his nose. Take the child to the pediatrician to have it cauterized. It is painless. The same thing happened to my daughter when she was about 10.

It is because his nasal passages are drying out and tiny blood vessels break. Just use a Q-tip to apply a little vasaline inside his nostrils to keep them moist until it heals up.

I'd guess the air is too dry.

Or your child picks his or her nose when alone because you're not there to see it.
