I am flying united in december, and when i flew around easter time, i had brought back things in my carry on bags like candy and cookies, well now that they have all the restrictions, will i be able to bring it in a carry on bag so it doesnt get smushed in my checked baggage? or will i just have to put it all in a box or something in my checked baggage so at least maybe the box wont get smashed?

Food without gel in it have always been allowed. We flew across country just a month ago and they even allowed us to bring Panera sandwiches on board!!

Don't carry it on in a box--just carry it carefully. You can't carry on one than more bag, I believe.

Call your airlines for more information.

We traveled a month ago from USA to Canada and back. My husband had a bag of candy and some candy bars in his carry-on both ways. They didn't question it at either airport.

I don't think that as of now you can bring food on the aircraft. But I would suggest before you travel you go to http://www.tsa.gov/ they have a complete list of what you can and can not bring on the aircraft. That's the website for TSA and they are who sets the standards on what you can take, etc... You will probably want to look on that right before you travel, because who knows by December everything could be changed again.

Have a great trip!

I am pretty sure that you are able to carry food. you can also carry water as long as you buy it once you are past the security gates.
