troops and not Bush, have you been reading the paper or looking at the news. The government, now, is asking those who got hurt and did not finish their tour to return their salary back to the government, and these are men that have lost their legs and arms. How can you support Bush when after a military man or woman has lost their limbs and the government is asking them to give their money back, that is just so unfair to those families, that already have financial woes. Can you answer that for me since some of you are so pro Bush

Supporting the Troops and not Bush is very easy. Send a care package to a GI, write a letter, volunteer to help out a family who has a father or mother deployed.

Another thing to look into is find out where the VA hospital(s) are in your state, and take a trip to one (call ahead and inquire about volunteering opportunities). Those men and women who are there will more than appreciate the company.

Doing these things will show you care about the troops. You can show support for the troops without being labeled a Bush lover.

Do not know where to start? Call your local VFW or American Legion.

As a retired Navy Chief I would follow Bush as he is my Commander and Chief. But as a Navy Chief I also put my men and women first. So I would have to oppose him and anyone else who would try to impose such an un-American idea. Those individuals gave some part of themselves, physical or psychological, so he could be President. But I would have to know where this info came from, as I am a disabled VET and mine has been increased.

I don't know the link for the above but it's a fact that Republicans only say they support the troops but would rather send money to build a bridge to nowhere than take care of our troops and veterans. Evidence of the consistent disparity between Republican and Democratic support for troops and veterans was demonstrated by a recent Congressional survey performed by the Iraq and Afghanistan Veterans of America, the nation’s first advocacy group for veterans of Operation Iraqi Freedom and Operation Enduring Freedom. IAVA reviewed the voting records on all legislation affecting soldiers, veterans or military families, and gave every member of Congress a letter grade indicating their support for the troops. Among senators, every single Democrat scored higher than every Republican, and only five Republican senators made a grade higher than “D.” In the House, IAVA gave out 36 “D’s” and “F’s” — only two of these went to Democrats.

Asking for an answer to anything that Bush has said or done is a futile effort. It seems that we do not have enough of an audience of those who have a family member that has been disabled or killed in this illegal war to state a condescending point of view. Our veterans from this war are going to overwhelm the already underfunded VA hospitals throughout this land when they come home and just like the plan for the aftermath of Iraq--there is no plan. It's up to the new Congress to make the necessary appropriations and in my heart I know they will. Or at least they will do their best despite Bush's ability to veto such legislation!!

I find it very hard to believe the government is taking back troops salary. It is my knowledge that wounded vets are paid for their wounds, not taxed. Cite the source where you found this information and I will join you in condemning everyone involved with it.... until then I will take this as more baseless Bush bashing.

Is that one of Murtha's plans? President Bush would not agree with that crap. I have a military family and have attended every return home celebration possible. Why haven't any of our friends who came home early been told to give their money back? What about the ones that died, their widows received huge lump sums of money as well. I just find it hard to believe.
