Only Jesus Christ was without sin. I'm going with Him.

Lots... it just depends on what values you consider as good.

Some of my role models: Margot Adler, Starhawk, Stephen Hawking, Bill Wilson, Carl Sagan and quite a few others, all for different reasons of cours. Some of these are living, some have passed on.

I guess that's the Catholic reason for saints. They sort of show that we, as humans, have the capacity to live the life that Christ admonished. If we look to Christ, we see a God, calling us to live an exceptional life. It might seem too lofty a goal. But when we see that MEN have attempted to do this, and have done so with some success, we realize that we were admonished to do something that is within the ability we were given.

Saint, role model, mentor whatever it is, look to those who are doing what you want... public or otherwise, and ask them to show you the way. Still, don't allow yourself to get to the point where you rely on that person's character solely. As humans, they all have the potential to let you down. Allow them to lead you, but don't be destroyed if they fail.

I agree that Jesus Christ is the only one without sin, but it's aright to have an imperfect role model too! I would go with Billy Graham. at a time when all public evangelists were under intense scrutiny (because of the baaker scandal), newspapers and magasines gave Billy Graham a clean bill of health.
I haven't always agreed tactically with everything he said or did, but it was always with the sincere purpose of glorifying christ and getting people to know Him. He is certainly a role model,
